Take on the Light to Light Trail Run, an unforgettable coastal challenge tracing the rugged wilderness between Boyds Tower and Green Cape Lightstation in Beowa National Park, NSW. This isn’t just a run—it’s a test of endurance, strength, and the will to conquer one of Australia’s most spectacular coastal trails.
You’ll navigate dense coastal forests, windswept heathlands, and pristine beaches, tackling rocky headlands and rolling terrain that will push your limits. Each section of the course presents a fresh challenge, from technical rock scrambles to long stretches in the exposed heathland there are plenty of views to keep you going!
This legendary route follows the Light to Light walking trail, beginning at the iconic landmark, Boyds Tower and finishing under the towering beacon of Green Cape Lightstation.
This isn’t just a race—it’s a journey through time and nature, a battle against the elements, and a celebration of true trail running grit. Are you ready to take on the Light to Light Trail Run?
The course is marked with National Park signs, there will be marshals at Bittangabee Bay (23km into course) to direct and assist. This will be the location for the one checkpoint to resupply with water. But mostly, you and your buddies will be on your own as you traverse the trail.
All challengers will meet at Boyds Tower for a 0645 briefing and departing Boyds Tower as the sun rises at 0709. Challengers will self seed. Finish line cut off is 1230.
A bus transfer is included at the end of the race back your vehicle.
Sapphire Coast Guiding Co. is covered by its own public liability insurance. This does not include personal accident insurance . It is strongly recommended to take out your own personal accident and ambulance cover for the event. Your private health insurance policy may include this, but you will need to check with them.

What surfaces will you encounter on the course?
The course is a mix of rocky and gravel trail, boulder strewn beaches and a small amount of sand. The course is very exposed in places.
Will there be somewhere to leave a bag for me to access at the end of the race?
Yes, there will be a bag drop for the event at registration. A volunteer will be present to receive and return items to participants on the day. Please make sure your gear is clearly marked with your name and race number using the provided marker pens. Once you have completed the event, show the volunteer your race number for them to provide you with your stored gear.
Will my race bib be mailed to me prior to the event?
No, you will receive your bib at registration.
How will I know where to go on course?
The course is marked by National Parks, with signage where needed. In some key spots there will be marshals to direct you. The trail outline and marking will be discussed at the briefing on the morning of the event. There will NOT be tape or markers everywhere, in some places you will need to look ahead to see where the trail goes. This is part of the adventure!
