Pick up from your accommodation or airport in the Merimbula area between 8am - 9am - travel via Eden and into Beowa National Park. The walk begins at Boyds Tower where we marvel the sandstone structure that was never officially used as a light house, instead Benjamin Boyd relied on it as a spotting tower for his whaling fleet.
Here at Boyds Tower we begin our amazing three-day trek along this breath-taking Coastal Wilderness. The rest of the day is spent exploring one of Australia’s most iconic walking trails, arriving at stunning Saltwater Creek in the afternoon. From here, you will be picked up by our bus and transported to your accommodation at the historic Green Cape Light Station. The stunning Green Cape Light house is New South Wales 2nd tallest, built in 1883.
You will have time to relax or indulge in some late afternoon whale watching (seasonal) before a scrumptious dinner based on local seasonal produce.
We begin our day with a hearty breakfast before our bus delivers you back to Saltwater Creek to continue our trek along this amazing coastline, with picturesque scenery and an abundance of wildlife. We break at Hegarty's Bay before continuing south, eventually making our way Bittangabee Bay.
Our bus will be waiting to deliver you back to the Green Cape Light Station and a well-deserved meal with local wines.
We’ll begin with whale watching (spring time only) from Green Cape point before bidding farewell to Green Cape Lighthouse to begin our walk, this time heading North to Bittangabee Bay.
Along the way we'll visit the Lye-e-Moon Cemetery - a reminder of the tragic ship wrecks of the steamer days - and walk through a diverse open woodland before we arrive at Bittangabee Bay. This marks the official end of what is truly one of Australia’s most scenic iconic walking trails! We will enjoy lunch overlooking the sapphire waters and reflecting on a great trip.
We depart Bittangabee Bay, stopping off at the Disaster Bay Lookout for a panoramic view down the wilderness coast and into Victoria.
Next, it's back through Eden and onto Merimbula, setting down at pre-arranged points, ending what has been three amazing days exploring Australia’s coastal wilderness and walking one of Australia's best walks. We will aim to have you back in the Merimbula area by 4pm. If you need to be back earlier for a flight please call us to discuss.
Note: This walk does involve walking over short sections of rocky and uneven surfaces.
