We do our pick up in our small bus then get on our way to Beowa National Park, marvel at panoramic views from Boyd Tower over Twofold Bay. Depart on foot to begin our three day trek south. Reach stunning Saltwater Creek, where camp is set up for you.
Set out from Saltwater Creek through coastal heath, grasslands and melaleuca, passing hidden bays, dramatic cliffs and historic ruins. Continue south until we reach pristine Bittangabee Bay. Be transported by bus back to camp at Saltwater Creek.
Be transported to Bittangabee Bay for our final day of walking. Discover red rock cliffs, banksia and melaleuca forest and the historic Ly-ee-moon Graveyard. Finally reach stunning Green Cape Light House, the final point of our three day walking journey.

Pick up from your accommodation or airport in the Merimbula area between 8am - 0830am - travel via Eden and onto Beowa National Park. The walk begins at Boyds Tower where we marvel the sandstone structure that was never officially used as a light house, instead Benjamin Boyd relied on it as a spotting tower for his whaling fleet.
Here at Boyds Tower we begin our amazing three-day trek along this breath-taking Coastal Wilderness. The rest of the day is spent exploring one of Australia’s most iconic walking trails - the famous Light to Light. Arriving at Saltwater Creek with camp all set up, with time to relax and explore before a scrumptious dinner based on local seasonal produce.
We begin our day with a hearty breakfast before continuing our trek along this amazing coastline with picturesque scenery and an abundance of wildlife. We break at Hegarty's Bay before continuing south, eventually making our way Bittangabee Bay.
Explore picturesque Bittangabee Bay, including the historic ruins, before returning in our bus to our Saltwater Creek Camp. Relax around the campfire and enjoying another wholesome meal prepared with local seasonal produce.
An easy day with leisurely start, we make our way back to Bittangabee Bay and begin our walk further south towards Green Cape Light House. We discover the Lye-e-Moon Cemetery and the reminder of the tragic ship wrecks of the steamer days of early maritime, enjoying morning tea on route.
The arrival to Green Cape Light House marks the official end of what is truly one of Australia’s most scenic iconic walking trails!
After inspecting the Light Housekeepers cottage's and surrounds, we then take in the beautiful Green Cape Light house - New South Wales 2nd tallest - built in 1883. We depart Green Cape stopping off at the Disaster Bay Lookout for a panoramic view down the coast.
Next, it's back to Eden and onto Merimbula, setting down at pre-arranged points, ending what has been three amazing days exploring Australia’s coastal wilderness and walking one of Australia's top 10 walks. We will aim to have you back in the Merimbula area by 4pm. If you need to be back earlier for a flight please call us to discuss.
Note: This walk does involve walking over short sections of rocky and uneven surfaces. A moderate level of walking fitness is required.
Optional items include: camera, binoculars, mobile phone (reception is patchy along the walk), walking poles, extra pair of shoes or sandals for evenings, personal day pack if desired.
Maximum Walking Group Size
Light to Light walking tours will have a maximum of 12 walkers.
Children
Light to Light walking tours are generally adults only. Children are welcome on private bookings via prior arrangement.
Camp Set-Up
Camp is fully established when you arrive at the end of the day. We do ask for a bit of help to pack up on Day 3 from those who are willing to assist.
Facilities
Saltwater Creek has National Park style drop toilets. There are no formal shower facilities, however a swim in the ocean or lagoon is a great way to end your day.
Terrain
The terrain is easy for the most part, but there are some short sections which require walking on rocky platforms and beach cobbles. Occasionally after rain, we might need to remove our boots to cross a sand bottomed creek.
Accommodation
Our quoted rates are based on a twin share basis. If you do not want to share, a single surcharge will apply. This is available on the booking form.
Safety
To look after your safety, our guides are trained in Wilderness First Aid and carry emergency communication equipment and backcountry first aid kits.
Vehicles
Generally guests leave their vehicles at their accommodation. Its best to check that is ok when booking. Let us know if there are any issues and we can assist.
